The South Florida Anglers completed a clean sweep through the 16U Pool A bracket with a 12-5 victory over the Paladins on Friday evening. The Anglers (3-0) advance to the second round of the HSBN Fall Classic, a round which begins on Monday with their opposition yet to be determined.

A big fourth inning helped erase a two-run deficit, as the Anglers tallied eight runs to jump well out in front and in control. Joe Anello was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded for an RBI that got the scoring going, and Nick Anello followed with a high fly ball to shallow center field that went for an error that allowed two runs to score and put the Anglers back in the lead. Gyasi Troeman next contributed with a two-RBI single, both Troeman and Isaac Dominguez then came in on passed balls and Nick Vacarro finished off the big inning with an RBI single to right field that gave them a 10-4 lead.

The Anglers took control with an early lead, before the Paladins rallied back. Daryl Carney singled up the middle, stole two bases and scored on an RBI single from Nick Anello for a 1-0 first-inning lead. Carney then added an RBI walk to double the lead in the second inning. But in the top of the fourth the Paladins (1-2) answered back and went ahead. Richie Santiago singled and scored on a perfectly-executed hit-and-run, as Robert Fernandez stroked a single to center field. Zach Koelher followed with an RBI single into right field, before coming in with the go-ahead run off a throwing error.

Robert Fernandez made the start and struck out a pair while allowing two earned run in two innings for the Paladins.
